Donald Trump Responds After Joe Rogan Brands Renee Good Killing ‘Horrific’

The US President has released another statement following the fatal shooting of Renee Nicole Good in Minneapolis.

Donald Trump has released another statement regarding the shooting of Renee Good after Joe Rogan called the killing 'horrific'.

On January 7, Jonathan Ross, an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) removal officer, shot and killed 37-year-old citizen Good during a protest in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

The incident has sparked further protests across the United States of America, with President Trump claiming that Ross had shot the mother of three in self-defence while blaming the 'radical left' for the killing.

Rogan, a outspoken supporter of Trump, criticised ICE following the incident, labelling the killing as 'horrific' and branding the agents as 'villains'.

Now, Trump has addressed the killing again with another statement released responding to the criticism from the likes of Rogan and millions of others across the country.

Following the shooting, CBS anchor Tony Dokoupil spoke with Good’s 'heartbroken' father who, despite admitting to being a strong supporter of Trump, called for the president to change the administration’s characterisation of Good as a “domestic terrorist”.

Shortly after, Dokoupil sat down with Trump to discuss the killing and asked the American president to respond to Good's fathers requests and further address the incident.

“I would bet you that she, under normal circumstances, was a very solid, wonderful person. But, you know, her actions were pretty tough," Trump replied via The Guardian.

After Trump's initial claims that the ICE agent had been acting in self-defence, video footage showing the incident revealed that Good’s car was turning away from the officer as he opens fire.

However, Trump continued to defend Ross for the shooting, doubling down that he had only killed Good in order to protect himself and other agents.

“There are a couple versions of that tape that are very, very bad,” Trump claimed, adding that the footage showing the shooting “can be viewed two ways”.

What did Joe Rogan say about the killing of Renee Good?

Since becoming perhaps the biggest name in podcasting, Rogan has been more than happy to discuss political affairs and even hosted and endorsed Trump ahead of the 2024 presidential election.

But when it came to the killing of Good, Rogan was not prepared to side with Trump as he voiced his true feelings in the latest episode of the Joe Rogan Experience.

“Now ICE are villains, and now people are looking at them like murderous military people that are on the streets of our cities and they're masked up, which is a problem,” Rogan said during an interview with Republican Senator Rand Paul.

“Most people believe that police are necessary…but those same people that believe that, might also believe that once someone is here, they should be able to stay in this country and ICE is operating illegally and we shouldn’t have militarised groups of people roaming the streets, just showing up with masks on and snatching people up,” Rogan continued.

The UFC legend then spoke about Good, adding: “It's very ugly to watch someone shoot a U.S. citizen, especially a woman, in the face…It just looked horrific to me. When people say it's justifiable because the car hit him, it seemed like she was turning the car away.”
