Daniel Cormier has named the only thing that could tempt Jon Jones out of retirement and it would cause uproar.

Jones has called time on his legendary UFC career, retiring from MMA - effectively avoiding a fight against Tom Aspinall, who had held the interim title before being promoted to undisputed UFC heavyweight champion.

It has created a never-before-seen scenario in the UFC and it could prove to be a major problem for Dana White.

Naturally, fans and critics alike have been reacting to Jones' UFC retirement, including Cormier, who fought 'Bones' twice during his career.

Cormier has slammed his arch nemesis, claiming he 'quit' by not fighting Aspinall.

He also suggests Jones could reverse his retirement decision if Aspinall loses his next fight, which wouldn't go down well among the MMA community.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Cormier said: "Unbelievable. I didn’t think it was gonna happen this fast.

"I said, 'If Jon Jones doesn’t fight this guy, Jon Jones quit'. Because he will walk away from something that has defined his entire adult life.

"Honestly, I’m not mad that this young man has a life with his family, and they’ve got all this money, and they’ve got all these great things.

"It does not change the fact, by not stepping in that Octagon, he quit. He didn’t want to fight Tom Aspinall, it’s so surprising.

"Is he scared? No, but by not fighting Aspinall, he opened that conversation. He lets every one of you question why he doesn’t fight him."

Cormier added: "I honestly feel like if Tom Aspinall loses he would come back and that's crazy to me, because that’s going to only make it worse."

Aspinall has won eight of his nine UFC bouts, losing to Curtis Blaydes in a freak accident. He avenged his sole UFC defeat in his last outing.

The Brit could be in line to defend his new undisputed championship against top contender long-time rival Ciryl Gane.

If he loses to Gane, Cormier wouldn't be surprised if Jones returned to the UFC.
