Fans couldn't believe what they were seeing as the official UFC YouTube account posted a shocking comment about Jon Jones ahead of his title fight at UFC 309.

On Saturday night, UFC legend Jones will return to the octagon for the first time in over a year to defend his heavyweight title against former champ and fellow icon Stipe Miocic.

Ahead of the fight interim heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall has been outspoken about how Jones has been avoiding fighting him instead of 42-year-old Miocic.

And now, fans have noticed a comment from an official UFC account about the heavyweight champion snubbing Aspinall, and UFC president and CEO Dana White won't be happy.

During the livestream of the final press conference ahead UFC 309 this weekend, the live chat became flooded with fans commenting the duck emoji, suggesting that Jones is afraid to fight the in-form Aspinall.

And fans couldn't believe their eyes when the official UFC YouTube account that was streaming the conference joined in with the digs at Jones, posting another duck emoji.

Reacting to an image of the comment on social media platform X, one fan wrote: "Wtf someone’s getting fired."

While another joked: "Dana is about to execute the intern omg."

And one fan asked: "Is this what Jon jones will be remembered as? The duck?"

But one fan offered support to the admin of the official account, adding: "Whoever did that deserves an immediate promotion."

But the UFC YouTube admin wasn't done there as, after their comment prompted another wave of emojis from fans, the official account commented: "W chat."

Throughout fight week, Jones has been spoken about how he does not want to gamble his legacy by facing Aspinall, and instead plans to take on 'fun' fights against the likes of light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira.

But if he intends to continue his career in the UFC, a fight against the interim champion must be next for Jones after White confirmed his plans for the heavyweight division at Thursday's press conference.

When asked what will happen to the winner of Saturday's fight, the UFC boss simply replied: "The winner should absolutely fight Tom.”
