Matt “The Steamrolla” Frevola has responded to Dana White's press conference comments about bonuses by sharing a picture of his bonus payslip from the UFC Fight Night 262 event in Vancouver.
Earlier this week, it was announced that the UFC will introduce a new bonus payout structure for fighters following its lucrative seven-year U.S. broadcast deal with Paramount worth $7.7 billion.
UFC president Dana White told Sports Business Journal that the bonuses are doubling from $50,000 to $100,000, taking its per-event bonus outlay to 'at least' $400,000.
White also confirmed that the UFC has decided to add a new bonus of $25,000 to any fighter who knocks out or submits the opponent but who wasn’t selected for fight or performance of the night.

As well as the above, it was confirmed that the new bonus structure would take effect from UFC 324 onwards.

Naturally, the topic of bonuses was brought up in Dana White's post-event press conference, after the main event slot between Justin Gaethje and Paddy Pimblett was named Fight of the Night.
A reporter asked: "The finish bonuses that were implemented tonight, that’s something that’s been kind of talked about for years as maybe a possibility. What got you to the finish line to say, yeah, let’s give bonuses for every finish."
White would go on to speak about how the previous bonus structure worked, claiming that every fighter on the card would receive a bonus ranging from $5,000 to $25,000.
He said: "What has been happening forever in this company since we started is every night I would tell you guys, these guys won these bonuses, but everybody on the card would get a check for different dollar amounts, depending on how they fought, ranging anywhere from $5,000 to $25,000 every event."
White added: "So those are going away, and now finishes will get a $25,000 bonus."
In response to White's comments, American lightweight Matt Frevola has posted a picture of his bonus payslip from October's UFC Fight Night 262 event in Vancouver.
Frevola lost his fight against Kyle Nelson via unanimous decision and, as per the screenshot below, the 35-year-old received $3,000 for his efforts.
He captioned the post on X, formerly Twitter, saying: "Thanks boss" and responded to some of the reaction from fans, adding: "Guys I showed he's not lying about discretionary bonuses & said thanks boss. Why are you mad?"
As well as the above, Frevola claimed to have received a $3,000 bonus following his bout against Genaro Valdez at UFC 270, a $5,000 bonus for beating Ottman Azaitar, and £3,000 bonuses for fights against Benoit Saint-Denis and Fares Ziam.
He added: "You always get a little sprinkle".
Previously, the UFC typically awarded $200,000 of bonuses after fight cards, with $50,000 going to each of the fighters who took part in the Fight of the Night, and a further $50,000 to two fighters who were judged to have the best individual performances.
