Conor McGregor is set to get married in a historic church in the Vatican today, according to a report.

McGregor got engaged with his long-term partner, Dee Devlin, in August 2020 and they are expected to get married on Friday.

According to the Irish Independent, the wedding is set to take place at the Chiesa di Santo Stefano degli Abissini, a small church located just behind St Peter’s Basilica on the route to the Vatican Gardens.

However, earlier in the week, Vatican senior spokesman Matteo Bruni said that he knew of no such wedding arrangements and there has been no official Holy See confirmation of the wedding.

But the report claims the Church of St Stephen of the Abyssinians has been booked for the wedding.

Senior Vatican figures have privately expressed their concern over the appropriateness of making a Vatican venue available to McGregor, who has been involved in several incidents throughout his career, including his civil rape case.

In 2024, a jury in a civil trial in Dublin's High Court found the UFC fighter had raped a woman at a hotel in 2018.

McGregor's appeal against that ruling was rejected by the Supreme Court, finding that he had a fair hearing and refusing him any further appeal.

Insiders have previously said that McGregor and Devlin's preferred venue, the Sistine Chapel, was not an option as Vatican rules prohibit weddings there.

The Chiesa di Santo Stefano is often referred as the oldest surviving church in the Vatican since it was not affected by the 1505 destruction of the old St Peter’s Basilica.

Speaking about the wedding, a source previously said: "Conor and Dee want to get married before Christmas and are planning a wedding at the Vatican in Rome.

"They are both staunch Catholics and it is their dream to wed there.

"They ideally would like to marry in the Sistine Chapel but it is not allowed so they may have to settle for the Cappella del Caro which can accommodate 100 people beside St Peter’s Basilica.

"It is all hush hush at the moment but December 12 is the date mentioned so we will have to wait and see."

The pair have been together since 2008 and have four children together.

McGregor has credited her for keeping him grounded, saying: "Dee is a lifesaver for me. I wouldn’t be doing this if it wasn’t for her. I’m doing all of this for her.

"Every day, since I started out in this game, she’s supported me. She’d drive me to the gym, and she’d listen to all my dreams."
