A former UFC fighter has revealed the offer he received to compete on Power Slap League, calling it 'f**king nuts'.

Dana White's new show, which aired last week, has been subjected to fierce criticism due to the brutality of the sport.

And it appears the pay isn't worth the damage. Well, that's judging by the deal Eric Spicely was offered to compete in the slap promotion.

Spicely, who had seven fights inside the famed Octagon, has tweeted that he received a verbal offer to take part in a slap match.

But the 36-year-old hit out at the pay, revealing an offer of $2,000 to show and $2,000 to win.

On Twitter, he wrote: "I was contacted to do slap league, you guys would be shocked at how much it pays."

He added: "First fight in the house was 2k ($2,000 to show) and 2k ($2,000 to win)."

So, had he turned up and lost, he would've taken home a measly $2,000. If he showed up and won, he would've pocketed $4,000.

Spicely, who went 2-5 in the UFC, called the pay 'f**king nuts', and passed on the Power Slap League deal, per MMA Fighting.

The slap-fighting organisation has come under scrutiny, with concussion expert Chris Nowinski ripping into White's endeavour.

"I believe adults can choose to do dangerous jobs if they understand the risks and reasonable efforts are made to protect them," he said.

"But head hits with no defence is just sad. It reminds us that people who don't take the risks often exploit those who do."

The UFC president, though, defended the Power Slap League and insists they have proper medical attention on site for their contests.

"We spend the money to make sure that we have two healthy people in there," he explained.

"We have proper medical attention during, and after the fight. There are all the things we needed to educate people on. Just like we had to educate people in mixed-martial arts."

White added: "But, in [Power] Slap, they take three like it, don’t watch it. Nobody is asking you to watch this. Oh, you’re disgusted by it? Watch The Voice."
