Remembering when Paddy Pimblett 'puked blood' during his Cage Warriors days ahead of UFC 282

Paddy Pimblett has since changed his nutrition after signing for the UFC.

Paddy Pimblett throwing up inside the cage following a grueling win during his Cage Warriors stint is still one of the more standout moments of his budding career.

Pimblett, just 21 at the time, threw up after defending the CW featherweight title against Julian Erosa at Cage Warriors: Unplugged 1 back in November 2016.

During his post-fight interview, the Liverpool fighter vomited mid-sentence, with viewers watching on expressing concern over the blood-like sick.

But Pimblett later revealed he didn't actually 'spew blood', but rather 'hot chocolate' and 'Ferrero Rocher'.

In an Instagram post, he wrote: "I'd like to thank everyone for all the kind messages asking about my health, I didn't spew blood it was hot chocolate and Ferraro Roche I'd consumed. Even on my worst day I got the job done, it's that simple!"

He added: "Seeing some very uneducated fans chat shit is just embarrassing, can't do wrong from doing right in this sport, no matter what I'm a c**t."

Pimblett went 7-2 in Cage Warriors before signing for the UFC. He made his Octagon debut against Luigi Vendramini, knocking him out in the first round. He then submitted Rodrigo Vargas to record his second UFC win and beat Jordan Leavitt in his most recent UFC appearance.

Pimblett, now 27, has a structured strength and conditioning plan, with Paul Reed, as seen in the UFC embedded shows, preparing his meals ahead of his UFC 282 bout against Jared Gordon.

He's also had the help of personal chef Joe McCarthy, who has provided the UFC starlet with a detailed meal plan, where he's shed an incredible amount of weight ahead of making the lightweight limit.

'The Baddy' starts his day with protein pancakes with yoghurt and would regularly eat protein granola and overnight oats in the morning.

For lunch, he'd eat chicken salad wrap and/or barbeque chicken burrito and in his final meal in training, he'd eat pasta and pure beef burger with fries.

Pimblett would also have dessert in the shape of protein cookies and chocolate cake. He may balloon up in weight when he's not got a fight scheduled, but he takes his nutrition very seriously during training camp.

The days of him spewing 'hot chocolate' and 'Ferrero Rocher' are long gone as he looks to capture a UFC title.

But you can expect Pimblett to tuck into some chocolatey goodness once his UFC 282 assignment is in the books.
