OKTAGON 58 delivers as fans packed into 27,000-seater stadium treated to epic card

The Prague card produced some incredible fights.

OKTAGON MMA continued to establish themselves as the No.1 promotion in Europe with an epic event from Prague's Eden Arena last night.

Co-founders Ondrej Novotny and Pavol Neruda put on a stunning event as MMA fans were treated to a sensational OKTAGON 58 card.

Hometown favourite Karlos Vemola, who enjoyed a spell in the UFC, beat Attila Vegh to defend his OKTAGON light-heavyweight title.

Dubbed as 'The Rematch of the Century', Vemola exacted revenge in what could be his final outing as a professional MMA fighter.

The Czech Republic-native was serenaded by the Eden Arena faithful as they spurred him onto victory as 'The Terminator' secured a submission victory in the second round.

Elsewhere on the card, Ion Sordu and Marek Mazuch claimed devastating first-round finishes in their respective main-card bouts.

Liverpool star Shem Rock, who is one of OKTAGON's biggest stars, opened the main-card with a slick first-round submission over rival Jaroslav Pokorny.

And Mateusz Legierski and Acoidan Duque advanced to the semi-finals of OKTAGON MMA's 'Tipsport' Gamechanger lightweight tournament as a huge prize pot is on offer.

From the quality of the fights to the extraordinary in-house production, which included a remarkable firework display, OKTAGON 58 was a rousing success as the promotion continued to enhance their stellar reputation.

OKTAGON MMA sets up shop in Bratislava, Slovakia, on July 20 before returning to Germany with a monster card at Frankfurt's 55,000-seater stadium - home to Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt.
