The beef between Khamzat Chimaev and Abubakar Nurmagomedov has been squashed thanks to help from Khabib as well as Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov.

Tensions boiled over in Abu Dhabi when Chimaev butted heads with Khabib's cousin while in attendance at UFC 280.

The two fighters were seen going back-and-forth cageside before tempers flared and punches were thrown.

Chimaev, arguably one of the most dangerous mixed martial artists on the planet, appeared to connect with a couple of blows before he was escorted away by arena security.

It wasn't a particularly good look for either party and the issue has now been addressed with both men agreeing to bury the hatchet.

In the wake of the incident, Abubakar posted a video of UFC legend Khabib mediating a peace agreement meeting between the pair.

The caption, according to MMA Junkie, reads: “A small misunderstanding took place personally between me and Khamzat. After that, we met with him in the Brotherhood circle, where we were gathered by the elders. As I said in an interview before my fight, Khamzat is my brother in Faith and I always wish him health and success. I ask you, brothers, not to invent any kind of gossip and I hope our meeting will be beneficial between our brotherly peoples.”

Controversial Chechen leader Kadyrov also got involved in calling a truce, posting a screenshot on Instagram showing him having a video call with Chimaev and Abubakar Nurmagomedov.

“Nerves can be stressed to the limit not only in the octagon, but also outside,” the caption translates to, per MMA Mania.

“Each of the spectators is worried about the athlete, and the fighters experience the same emotions as in the ring. Therefore, it is not surprising that misunderstandings arise at the limit of emotions. There is no quarrel between Khamzat Chimaev and Abubakr Nurmagomedov - I have made sure of it personally, and I pass this information on to the ill-wishers.

“Do not blow up this problem of a global scale and do not try to instigate and tease athletes and their fans. This happens, including among brothers. But it was the misunderstanding that was resolved. We were and will be brothers, Inshallah! So do not write nonsense, do not take sin to your soul, for every dirty word you will have to answer to the Almighty!”
