Francis Ngannou 'confronts' Jake Paul after saying UFC champion is an 'easy matchup'

Francis Ngannou 'confronts' Jake Paul after saying UFC champion is an 'easy matchup'

Francis Ngannou and Jake Paul are now in the same division

Francis Ngannou jokingly confronted Jake Paul after the YouTuber turned boxer said the former UFC champion was an easy matchup.

Back in September, Paul was asked about who he could take in a fight.

The Problem Child went on to say Ngannou would be an easy matchup before he was confronted by the UFC fighter. You can watch the footage below.

The reporter asked: "Who do you think you could take in a fight? You know any celebrity?"

The YouTuber-turned-boxer jokingly replied: "I mean I've been having my eye on Francis Ngannou.

"I think that will be a pretty easy matchup."

The interview rolls on with Ngannou then confronting Paul.

The 36-year-old puts his hands on Paul, who says: "Hey buddy. We were just talking about, he asked me like, who do I love?"

Ngannou replied: "He said who would you fight?"

Paul continued: "No he was saying, who do I love."

Ngannou added: "So you don't want to fight me?" To which Paul replied: "No. Francis. Come on buddy."

In May, it was announced that Ngannou has signed for UFC rivals the Professional Fighters League, which is the same promotion as Paul, who welcomed the 36-year-old with a message.

In addition to being a fighter, Ngannou will also take equity within the company and will serve as chairman of PFL Africa.

Ngannou said: “The past few months have been a very interesting time to understand and see the landscape but I’m very excited about this deal with the P.F.L. because they basically showed what I was expecting.

"They didn’t just show up as a promotion that was looking for a fighter, but really came as a partner that sees more value in you as a person."

Ngannou is set to making his boxing debut against WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury in Saudi Arabia on October 28.

Paul, meanwhile, returns to the ring for the first time since beating beaten by Tommy Fury to face Nate Diaz on August 5.
