An intergender MMA bout between a plus-size model and a pornstar took place in Russia, producing an absolutely bizarre finish.

Epic Fighting Championship put on a controversial bout, pitting Alexander Pistoletov against Sasha Mamaha.

Pistoletov, a Russian pornstar and singer, went the distance with blogger Mamaha in a bizarre clash that saw a fan intervene and try to stop the fight.

The referee, with the help of some officials, partially prevented the fan. But his intervention halted the contest, prompting a restart in the same position.

Once the fight resumed, Pistoletov secured a submission but Team Mamaha disputed the decision.

Pistoletov agreed to a fourth round that Mamaha won, claiming a decision victory.

The nature of the bout as well as the conclusion of Pistoletov vs. Mamaha got fight fans talking on social media.

One joked: "Sometimes it's good to remind yourself that there are promotions lower than Bellator."

A second wrote: "Trying to keep track of all these Russian freakshow events is exhausting."

A third added: "Somebody needs to check on Russia..."

So, there you have it - one of weirdest and wackiest bouts in the history of combat sports.

It's not the first intergender bout in recent memory as Polish promotion MMA-VIP3 staged not one but TWO man vs. woman bouts on their card.
