Darren Till reportedly removed from UFC roster

Darren Till reportedly removed from UFC roster

The devastating news coincides with Till's three-fight losing streak inside the octagon.

Darren Till has reportedly been removed from the UFC's active roster.

According to popular Twitter account 'UFC Roster Watch', the Scouse fan favourite was one of a number of fighters to part ways with the promotion, along with Zubaira Tukhugov and Jose Johnson.

The devastating news coincides with Till's three-fight losing streak inside the octagon.

Till recently suffered a third-round submission loss to Dricus du Plessis at UFC 282 in December of 2022.

Prior to that, he was defeated by Derek Brunson via rear naked and Robert Whittaker by unanimous decision.

However, he did beat Kelvin Gastelum by split decision, although that win came after a brutal KO from Jorge Masvidal on home soil as well a loss to Tyron Woodley for the welterweight title.

Since his loss to former champ Woodley, the first defeat of his career, Till has gone 1-5 in last 6 UFC bouts โ€“ getting finished in 4 of those losses.

He now boasts a professional record of 18 wins, 5 losses and 1 draw.

But despite being awarded a $50k Fight of the Night bonus for his performance against du Plessis, it seems the UFC have made a call on Till's future โ€“ if the rumours are true, of course.

When UFC Roster Watch posted the news to Twitter, fans shared how gutted they were for the talented striker.

YouTuber-turned-boxer KSI commented: "Dayum."

While one fan said: "Sad."

As another added: "Unexpected but not a surprise."

And a fourth chimed in, claiming: "That same cocky fire just hasn't been there."

Speaking after Till's loss to du Plessis, UFC boss Dana White gave his thoughts on the former title challenger's future.

"I mean that's fight of the night. I don't think his stock drops at all," White said in his press conference.

"You know, if he went out there and got destroyed in the first round, like it looked like it was gonna happen, but it did the exact opposite, he weathered that storm, stayed out of submissions. Then he comes back and you think he's gonna win the fight."

He added: "I thought it was an awesome fight, that's why it was fight of the night and I don't think his stock dropped at all."

The UFC is yet to release an official statement on Till's release.
