Masvidal made an outrageous claim during his press conference on media day in Las Vegas ahead of his blockbuster grudge match this weekend.
'Gamebred' took exception to Covington's attacks of Amanda Nunes and Joanna Jedrzejczyk, scandalously saying his verbal jabs is a plot to have a sex change.
The UFC superstar didn't hold back as he made an explosive accusation of his former teammate-turned-enemy.
"Another thing that I don't get; why does he talk about women so much?" He said.
"Every chance he gets, he attacks Amanda, he attacks Joanna or any of these fighters.
"And I think I've figured it out: there's some doctors that I've been talking to and I think he's going to have a sex change.
"And he's going to over and start fighting women, maybe.
"Because as he says, he's just building pay-per-views. So maybe that's what he's doing."
Masvidal added: "He's a very interesting character, a lot of flaws in his head and I can't wait to straighten them out."
Masvidal's former teammates Nunes and Jedrzejczyk have been subject to abuse by Covington, who has launched tirades on members of American Top Team.
The former interim UFC welterweight champion also aimed a dig at Dustin Poirier, calling for a showdown with 'The Diamond'.
"The last time he was talking to you clickbait merchants, he was saying, 'Oh, I’m not going to fight Colby in the octagon, where there’s finances on the line. I’m going to fight him in the streets and we’re both going to go to jail.' It’s funny," 'Chaos' said in his press conference ahead of UFC 272.
"It’s very ironic because he talks about being a family guy, a good guy, but he wants to fight me in the streets and potentially go away from his family.
"Dustin Poirier has all these stipulations to fight me. I just have one stipulation. My one stipulation is he lets the world watch and enjoy themselves."
