Australian MMA prospect Jack Becker suffered a horrific leg injury at HBF Stadium in Perth, at Eternal MMA 66.

Becker, who has been touted as one of the best young talents out of Australia, is set to face a lengthy recovery after the gruesome injury.

Becker was defending his lightweight title against Aidance Aguilera when he threw a leg kick at his opponent early in the first round.

What happened next can only be described as sickening as his ankle appeared to wrap around Aguilera’s leg, after his opponent checked the kick.

When Becker attempted to put weight back on his feet he crumbled to the floor with his leg pointing in a nasty direction.

The referee quickly called for a stoppage as Becker lay on the cage floor in agony, while both his opponent and medical team comforted him.

His future hopes of climbing the ranks in the Australian scene will have to be put on hold as the former Eternal MMA Lightweight champion recovers from the injury.

Despite the injury, Becker appeared to be in great spirits, even joking on Instagram about the injury.

He posted an image of his gnarly-looking leg and captioned the post: “Early stoppage.”

He later posted: “The game is to get as ready as you can. Train your heart out and rock up to take risks and put it all on the line. I did that and so did my team. Everybody who came out and made some noise, it was an experience I’ll never forget, I’m looking forward to feeling it again when I can. Was all going to plan till my leg turned into a noodle.

“Aidance Aguilera I’m glad the belt is bequeathed to a man who values spicey highlights & sportsmanship. I’m sorry that’s how it went down. We deserved more than 22 seconds after the wait we had to perform. Defend the belt and enjoy it cos you deserve to.

“It’s gonna take me a while to get back to all the nice messages. I’m good and I appreciate the thoughts. I’ll be back moving soon enough. I really wish I could have shown a little more. But that’s the way it goes sometimes.”

His opponent was quick to quip back in the comments, saying: “Always cheering for you. Unless you’re fighting me then you can get f***d.”

Aguilera then added on his own Instagram account: “You're a champion Jack and I hope to represent the same qualities in my reign. I have no doubt you have the strength and grit to get through the tough road ahead and I look forward to seeing you back.”
