UFC fans joke that 'Alex Pereira is in trouble' after seeing Jake Gyllenhaal in the Octagon

Jake Gyllenhaal has been busy filming his next combat sports-movie blockbuster - a remake of the cult-classic 1989 film Road House.

Alex Pereira may have an impeding rematch against Israel Adesanya coming up but some UFC fans think he should be worrying about a certain Hollywood star instead.

Jake Gyllenhaal has been busy filming his next combat sports-movie blockbuster - a remake of the cult-classic 1989 film Road House.

He’s been working with the legendary Conor McGregor on the project and by the looks of things the UFC has been helping out with the movie as well.

While many fans were gearing up for the return of Jon Jones at UFC 285, the T-Mobile arena turned into a movie set for the upcoming film.

Gyllenhaal, who is playing Elwood Dalton in the film, entered the arena as he got set to take on UFC legend Jay Hieron, who is playing Jack Harris.

The ‘fight’ got underway and the pair made it look absolutely brutal.

In footage that has been shared online, Gyllenhaal’s character can be seen landing a savage flying knee on his opponent before securing the win with a ground and pound.

The referee attempts to pull off the actor but he continues the onslaught at what will be an interesting moment in the film.

The scene looked incredibly convincing, and fans were left impressed by Gyllenhaal as well as Hieron.

In the movie, they’re fighting for the UFC middleweight title, a championship currently held by a scary Brazilian.

However, some fans joked that Pereira may have some ‘trouble’ when it comes to Gyllenhaal.

One wrote: “Alex Pereira is in trouble.”

A second said: “New mythical fighter. 185lbs Jake Gyllenhaal. Pereira's worst nightmare.”

A third commented: “I’ve seen enough Jake Gyllenhaal vs Alex Pereira is the fight that needs to be made. Should be an absolute banger!!!”

A fourth added: “Gyllenhaal TKOs Pereira in less than 2 sadly.”

Book it, Dana.

Gyllenhaal, with the help of McGregor, also shot some scenes at the ceremonial weigh-ins for the UFC 285.

The scene was done in front of fans who also attended the weigh-ins and also included UFC boss Dana White.

The premise for the upcoming film follows an ex-UFC fighter who ends up working at a roadhouse in the Florida Keys where he 'soon discovers that not everything is what it seems in this tropical paradise', the synopsis reads.

Road House is set to be released by Amazon Studios.
