Jockey Nico De Boinville and Trainer Nicky Henderson gave their opinions at Kempton on some of their horses that are going to feature during this year’s Cheltenham Festival.
Constitutional Hill is the horse everyone is talking about at this year’s festival and after winning the 2023 Unibet Champion Hurdle, he’s looking for another win in the same race this year.

“We’re leaving Kempton happy” said Nico. “Mentally he was always there, physically he seems to be taking it well. I can’t say he’s bigger and better than ever, but he’s certainly back to where he should be.
This confidence was then backed up by trainer Nicky Henderson. “I do think he’s as good as we’ve had him. He’s back in the same sort of shape he was in for the Champion Hurdle”
Constitutional Hill is currently 4/7 to become a two-time winner of the Unibet Champion Hurdle.
Lulumba runs on Friday in the JCB Triumph Classic after an impressive win last time out at Ascot and is 2/1 to win the race
“He’s a talented horse,” claimed the English jockey. “He’s certainly got it all and I think he will relish being on the new course”.
Henderson also heaped praise on Lulumba. “What he did at Ascot was visually impressive, he’s just got a very good, laid back temperament. He’s like a pro!”
Jonbon didn’t make the trip to Kempton as Henderson said that it wasn’t needed for the Queen Mother Champion Chase favourite.
“Everything’s gone well, he’s been training very well. Paddy, who rides him every day, says he wishes the race was tomorrow, he’s in such good form!
