The full extent of Tiger Woods’ horrific injuries as a result of a car crash have been revealed in a photo of the iconic golfer wearing shorts.

The legendary sports star has been on the comeback trail the past few months after recovering from surgery on both legs following a high-speed road accident in February 2021.

He made his return at the Masters in April and then played at the PGA Championship last month.

But a new photo of Woods posing with a fan has surfaced on social media – and it shows off an intense scar on his right leg.

When you look at just how deep and gnarly the scar looks on his leg, the fact that he’s even playing golf again should be considered a huge achievement.

Woods shared pictures of himself following several surgeries on his lower right leg, foot and ankle, however, at the time he was still in a boot and on crutches.

Twitter.

This latest image truly shows off his scars, and fans unsurprisingly were in awe of the 82-time PGA Tour winner.

One fan tweeted: “Impressive as hell.”

Another said: “Look at Tiger Woods’ right leg, he is a warrior for trying to play at a competitive level.”

Whilst, SportCenter anchor Michael Eves said: “This is why I continue to say Tiger's ability to play FOUR ROUNDS at Augusta 14 months after his accident is one of the gutsiest things I've ever witnessed in sports!”

Woods had to be cut from the wreckage and taken to hospital in February last year after his vehicle hit a tree in California.

He suffered a shattered tibia and fibula bones in his right leg in multiple places.

No other vehicle was involved in the February accident, but there are reports that Woods had been driving at well over the 70km speed limit, according to the Mirror.

Woods' car apparently struck a central reservation and travelled across two lanes, before hitting a tree at speeds believed to be around 120km/h.

An investigation into the incident found it was an accident and not a crime, finding no indication that Woods had been under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Despite the serious injuries he suffered he is still intent on keeping up his playing career, albeit with a less intense schedule.

Speaking after the Masters, he told Sky Sports: "I won't be playing a full schedule ever again - It'll be just the big events.

"I am looking forward to St Andrews. That is something that is near and dear to my heart.

"I've won two Opens there, it's the home of golf, it's my favourite golf course in the world."
