Sebastian Vettel won four F1 world titles when he was driving for Red Bull

It has been confirmed that former Red Bull driver Sebastian Vettel will get behind the wheel of an F1 car again.

After a career that spanned 15 years, Vettel announced his retirement from F1 at the end of the 2022 season.

During his time with Red Bull, the German won four consecutive world titles from 2010 to 2013.

Fans were left disappointed when the news of Vettel’s retirement surfaced.

However, they will now get the chance to see Vettel driving an F1 car again, you can watch Vettel's announcement below.

Vettel is set to drive his second title-winning car, the RB7 in September whilst Daniel Ricciardo will drive the RB8 on the same track during the event.

Vettel said: “The myth of the Nordschleife resonated, even if we 'only' drove the GP track at the time.

“In any case, it will be great fun to drive my RB7 – fuelled with e-fuel – on the Nordschleife as part of a show run.”

He added: “Motorsport is my passion. It's important to me to show that racing cars can run just as well and quickly with synthetic CO2-neutral fuel. And that is already today!”

Fans were quick to react to the news of Vettel’s return.

One said: “Sebastian Vettel back in a Red Bull just feels right.”

Another tweeted: “Sebastian in a Red Bull after all these yearsss. Yes plssss.”

A third fan added: “Take my money, take my card Seb, take everything but I need to be there!!”

Someone else wrote: “Yoo!! seeing Vettel in a Red Bull after 9 years.”

Whilst a fifth commented: “Sebastian Vettel heard my complaining about missing him so he decided to get back in a car for my birthday.”

At the start of the 2023 season, there were rumours that Vettel could race for Aston Martin after Lance Stroll’s injury.

However, Vettel has since said a comeback was never on the cards.

He said to Sky Germany: “I didn’t even realise what was happening at first. And when I heard what happened, I texted Lance and wished him a quick recovery.

“I never really thought what it could mean. I had a message from Mike on my phone. And we talked a little bit. But a comeback was never an option.”
