Max Verstappen is set to take part in the ADAC RAVENOL 24h Nurburgring, which is set to take place between May 14 and 17 - and he will be joined by two former Formula One drivers in the race.
The four-time F1 world champion will be racing for Mercedes-AMG Team Verstappen Racing, and he will be joined by Lucas Auer, Jules Gounon and Daniel Juncadella in his number three car.
Several F1 fans may find it strange that the Dutch driver is opting to compete in this famous race; however, due to the disjointed calendar this year and the frustration of Verstappen behind the Red Bull wheel, the possibility of finding success elsewhere may be what he needs.
Fans of Verstappen may tune in to see how he gets on around the famous Nurburgring but they may be shocked to find that there will be two former F1 drivers also taking part in the race.

Markus Winkelhock, who competed for Spyker F1 in the 2007 campaign, taking part in only one race, the European Grand Prix.
It was a race of highs and lows for Winklehock, who would lead for a total of six laps in testing conditions but would retire on lap 15 with hydraulic problems that caused a small fire.
The German will be driving in car 62 for HWA Engineering Speed, and he will be joined in the car by compatriots Sebastian Asch and Luca Ludwig along with American Adam Adelson.
Meanwhile, the other former F1 driver may be a name more familiar to fans of the sport, Timo Glock.

The German driver made his debut for Jordan in 2004, beginning as a test driver but driving in the final three races of the season.
Glock would be remembered more fondly for his career between 2008 and 2012, in which he raced for Toyota, Virgin and Marussia.
It would not be a career full of silverware, but he did manage to earn three podiums, which is no small feat when a driver does not race for a major team.
Glock will be driving around the Nurburgring for Doerr Motorsport along with Timo Scheider, Ben Doerr and Marvin Kirchhofer.
