Fans can’t quite believe where Max Verstappen has put his Formula 1 World Championship trophy

Fans can’t quite believe where Max Verstappen has put his Formula 1 World Championship trophy

Max Verstappen breezed to the Formula 1 World Championship last season

Fans have been left baffled by where Max Verstappen has placed his Formula 1 World Championship trophy.

After winning his maiden F1 title under the most dramatic of circumstances in 2021, Verstappen eased to the 2022 title after fending off Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc.

This season, he is the red hot favourite to clinch his third, and a hat trick of titles as the Red Bull cars look far more superior than their competitors once again.

Having won the season opener in Bahrain, Verstappen had to settle for second in the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix as the Dutchman’s teammate, Sergio Perez took the chequered flag first.

F1 fans though can’t quite believe where Verstappen has put his World Championship trophy after a picture from a live stream was posted on social media.

The picture showed Verstappen’s trophy sitting on top of a mini fridge next to his television screen.

Fans were quick to react, one said: “The WDC trophy just casually on the mini fridge.”

Another tweeted: “He’s just like me fr but instead there’s a lamp on mine.”

A third fan added: “I guess he is like me and doesn’t put much meaning into trophies or photos or that stuff. What matters is the moment and the achievement.”

Someone else wrote: “Do you think he drinks Red Bull out of it?”

Whilst a fifth commented: “This is incredible. Max is so funny lol.”

After a reliability issue ruined his Saudi Grand Prix qualifying, Verstappen has urged the team to do better.

He said: “We need to make sure we are reliable without any issues. I mean, my first weekend was not very clean, because of just the big balance shift from testing to the race weekend, some other things which are going on in the background.

“And again (in Saudi Arabia), after three positive practice sessions, then I have an issue in qualifying.

“Of course, I recovered to second, which is good. And of course in general, the whole feeling in the team, everyone is happy but personally, I'm not happy.”
