Jamie Vardy Reveals His Odd 'Training' Habits

How very Jamie Vardy!

The story of Jamie Vardy continues to be good enough to be a film script, which is handy considering someone is about to make a film about the England and Leicester striker. However any scenes where Vardy is seen working hard in the gym will be nothing more than Hollywood.

Vardy continued his fairytale story on Thursday coming on at half-time in England's game and scoring the equaliser as England came back from a half-time deficit for the first time in their Euro championship history.

The Premier League's second top goalscorer revealed that rather than hard work in the gym and a clean living diet he indulges in cans or Red Bull and an avoidance of the gym, not that he doesn't put the hard yards in on the pitch. When asked about his energy drinks and nicotine patches he said:

"It's just something I've always done and I've checked with the medical team and there's nothing wrong with them. I wouldn't call it a diet, the Red Bull's just to wake me up in a morning! It's not a natural thing, I just felt like I needed it that day."

The 29 year-old former non-league striker also talked about managers trying to get them into the gym, somewhere he's a less than frequent visitor, and the man linked with a move to Arsenal added, "Yes, they've tried but they've not succeeded! When was the last time I lifted a weight? Probably that can of Red Bull the other day!"

Vardy does have very good reasoning for avoiding lifting too many weights explaining that would change him as a player, "If I go in the gym it will slow me down! Not for weights or anything. Each and every person is different and this is just my way. I'm sure if somebody else tried doing what I do it probably wouldn't work for them."

Based on the success he's been having it's probably best he sticks to what he's been doing!
