Diogo Jota Shockingly Fails To Score In Biggest Miss Of The Season Yet, The 'Keeper Is Standing BEHIND Him

Diogo Jota Shockingly Fails To Score In Biggest Miss Of The Season Yet, The 'Keeper Is Standing BEHIND Him

"[Diogo] Jota kept on for 20 [minutes] too much," one fan said. The Liverpool man might fast-forward this moment during Match of the Day.

Liverpool star Diogo Jota has fired himself into pole position for Premier League miss of the season after he failed to convert from close range against Wolves.

The Reds travelled to the Molineux on Saturday and Jota fluffed an unbelievable chance to break the deadlock in the second half.

Jose Sa had a complete shocker after a miscommunication with one of his own teammates saw them run into each other outside of the box.

Jota immediately pounced on the loose ball and worked his way into the box unchallenged, with Conor Coady and Max Kilman scrambling their way to the Wolves line.

The 25-year-old Liverpool forward had the entire net to aim at and plenty of time to beat Coady and Kilman, with Sa desperately trying to make his way back in time.

However, Jota managed to fire his shot at Coady and the ball ricocheted away, with furious fans calling it a strong contender for Premier League miss of the season.

One fan said: “Jota’s children will never look at him the same after that miss.”

While a second Twitter user wrote: “I’ve never been so annoyed with Jota, man.”

And a third posted: “This is actually painful to watch. The front three have stunk big time, especially Jota.”

Someone else tweeted: “Jota kept on for 20 [minutes] too much.”

Liverpool managed to secure the win deep in injury time after Mohamed Salah found Divock Origi, who touched the ball before turning around to smash a powerful low shot past Sa from close range.

The Reds’ 1-0 victory means that Jurgen Klopp’s men have climbed to the top of the Premier League table ahead of Chelsea.

Thomas Tuchel’s side suffered a 3-2 defeat to West Ham at the London Stadium in the early kick-off on Saturday.

Liverpool will now resume their Champions League campaign on Tuesday with a trip to the San Siro for their clash with AC Milan.
