It wasn't all doom and gloom for Bale.

A compilation of Gareth Bale's best moments in a Real Madrid shirt has re-emerged following confirmation of his departure.

The 32-year-old announced he'd be leaving the Santiago Bernabeu in a statement on Wednesday after nine years at the club.

During that time, Bale lifted three La Liga titles and the Champions League five times despite issues with the fanbase.

Many think the former Tottenham Hotspur winger stopped caring about Los Blancos some time ago, but what can't be denied is his raw talent on the pitch.

Bale arrived in Madrid for £86 million in 2013, which was a world record at the time. His arrival completed the famous 'BBC' forward line which included Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema.

As an individual talent, few in the world compared to Bale at the time and he had it in him to win any game almost single-handedly.

Just watch the video above and count how often he took matters into his own hands.

His first season alone had highlights most only dream of. Bale left Marc Bartra in the dust by running on and off the pitch against Barcelona in the Copa del Rey final and also scored the goal to put Real ahead against bitter rivals Atletico in the Champions League final.

He'd play a key role in years to come and rarely dipped below double figures in goal return, but something changed after 2018.

Bale came off the bench to win that year's Champions League final against Liverpool and on paper, it should've been a rebirth. It was anything but.

The Wales international never established himself as a regular starter again and spent last campaign back on loan at Tottenham.

Fans have reacted to the video and they think now his time in La Liga is done, he deserves some respect.

One commented: "He was an amazing player but Real Madrid fans has short memories as always, no wonder if he don’t give 100% as long as there is no recognition."

Another said: "He was once my favourite football player in the world even ahead of Messi and Ronaldo. It's sad to see how his career took a turn."

While a third tweeted: "World class. This guy deserves to go down as a true Real Madrid legend."

Real defeated Liverpool 1-0 on Saturday evening to win their 14th Champions League title.

Bale was an unused substitute in that game but received an emotional goodbye, despite his issues, at the end of season parade.
