Real Madrid Eye Up Four Premier League Targets For January

Real Madrid Eye Up Four Premier League Targets For January

It's been a poor start to the season for Zinedine Zidane's side in La Liga and the Champions League and reinforcements could be signed.

Zinedine Zidane has mainly had an easy time of it since becoming manager of Real Madrid. Now in his first period of danger the club are looking towards the Premier League to help him back to form.

Going into this season Zidane had become the first manager to win the Champions League back-to-back and had also won La Liga for the first time in five years for Real Madrid, not a bad start to life as a manger.

So much has Los Blancos' domination been since the former midfield wizard took over that everyone expected the 12 times Champions League winners would be walking away with the double again this season.

It might be early on but that currently doesn't look like happening. Two losses in the past week, one to Girona in La Liga and one against Spurs in the Champions League, have left serious questions about the team.

So it's probably no wonder that Florentino Perez is lining up some additions to the squad in the summer and according to Diario Gol he's looking at four players from the Premier League with Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Ander Herrera, Juan Mata and Alexis Sanchez.

The report seems to suggest that the players will be targeted to come to the Bernabeu at the end of the season and with their deals all set to expire in the summer they'd be free to talk to the player in January.

Top of the list in terms of most likely to move feels like Alexis Sanchez simply because the Arsenal forward clearly has no interest in sticking around the Emirates past this season and could yet be available in January, with Manchester City interested.

Ander Herrera and Juan Mata aren't guaranteed first team starters at Old Trafford right now but Jose Mourinho will still be hoping to tie them up to contracts before January comes around and they can negotiate with other clubs outside England.

Finally is Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The United striker is only just on his way back from a serious ACL injury he picked up at the end of last season and him moving to Real seems unlikely.

Will Zidane sign any of the Premier League targets?
