Aaron Ramsey will be able to leave Arsenal for free at the end of the season with his contract running up. His club are hoping that two Premier League sides start a bidding war for him in January.
Another season, another Arsenal player who can leave on a free at the end of the season and won't be signing a new deal. It's a story as old as time and it doesn't seem to be getting any better.
This time last year all the talk was about Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil's contracts running on empty and whether or not they would sign, leave in January for money or leave for free in the summer.
In the end it was Sanchez who left in the winter transfer window, swapped for Henrikh Mkhitaryan, and Ozil who signed a new long term deal on much improved wages.

If Arsenal fans thought the end of the Arsene Wenger years would end this kind of thing they were wrong. The Gunners put a deal on the table for Aaron Ramsey but have since taken it away with the Welshman now not going to sign a new deal.
Rather than get nothing for him in the summer though the Gunners are, according to the Evening Standard, hopeful that there will be a bidding war in January between Liverpool and Manchester United.
Both sides have a long standing interest in the former Cardiff City midfielder and the Emirates side remain hopeful they can be lured into making a bid for him in the next transfer window.

From January 1st the 27 year old will be able to negotiate a free transfer with teams outside of England but will have to wait till the end of the season for the same deal with Premier League clubs.
The north London side don't exactly want to sell another player to a rival, considering how much it's happened in the past, but Emery could use the money to bring in reinforcements.
One way or another Ramsey will be moving on in the next nine months so it stands to reason that his team will try and make money out of the sale. How has it come to this again for Arsenal?
