Four years ago Neymar's injury in the quarter final of the World Cup dominated the headlines all the way to the final. This time the Brazil forward will be hoping his return helps his side win the tournament.

In Brazil in 2014 all the talk was that Neymar could lead Brazil to a home World Cup win and make up for the heartache that was a shadow over the country from 1950.

His form and fitness was imperative to their chances but in the quarter final he suffered a back injury that would take him out of the rest of the tournament. The reaction and emotion was part of the reason for Brazil's 7-1 walloping by Germany in the semis.

Now the Seleção are desperate to make up for what happened but in February Neymar suffered an injury that would keep him out for months and ask questions about his World Cup participation.

He didn't make it back in time for PSG's season but the world's most expensive player came back on Sunday afternoon for Brazil's warm up game against Croatia and in typical fashion he was on the scoresheet:

At just 26 Neymar is now Brazil's third top scorer of all time and is just one behind the legendary Romario, who he will surely overtake at the World Cup.

He's scored a remarkable 54 goals in just 84 appearances for his country.

Can Neymar lead Brazil to World Cup glory and redemption.
