Spurs Star's Release Clause Could Alert Chelsea And Manchester United

Spurs Star's Release Clause Could Alert Chelsea And Manchester United

This seems like a bad move by Daniel Levy.

Daniel Levy might sometimes frustrate Spurs fans from a footballing perspective but there's no doubting from a business point of view Levy knows his apples. That makes us wonder why one Spurs star has got away with such a small release clause.

Tottenham are riding high this season, will definitely qualify for the Champions League, should finish in the top two and might still win the league so it's no surprise that other clubs will be after their prized possessions.

And the Sun are reporting that the North London side's biggest star has a release clause for just £10 million. That's apparently the price a club needs to offer Levy to steal Mauricio Pochettino from the club and that's something that could be very attractive to Chelsea and Manchester United.

Chelsea will be appointing a new manager in the summer and are known to be fans of the Argentinian even if it is expected that they will appoint Italy manager Antonio Conte. United could equally be in the market for a new boss and again are fans of the former Espanyol boss.

£10 million might be quite steep for a manager, especially one who cost £2 million only two years ago but Pochettino has transformed Spurs since joining Southampton in a way that no £10 million player could so why not pay more for the right manager.

Levy is hoping to get his manager to sign a new deal and make look to take the release clause out, however it could be too late...
