Liverpool Pip Everton To Signing Of Midfielder

Liverpool have made a move for Newcastle midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum.

Wijnaldum is sought after following Newcastle's relegation from the Premier League with both Everton and Spurs believed to have expressed an interest, though it's Jurgen Klopp who appears to have acquired his services.

The 25-year-old moved to the North-East from PSV Eindhoven only last July 2015 for £14.5 million. Despite suffering the drop down to England's second tier, he was heralded for his all-action approach where he played every single league game scoring 11 goals while creating five.

According to Tony Barrett of The Times, both clubs are hoping they can agree a fee, reported to be £20 million, before finalising the deal.

The potential signing of the talented Dutchman has the Liverpool faithful's excited.
