Jose Mourinho is not messing around in getting his Manchester United tenure up and running. First the news broke yesterday that Zlatan Ibrahimovic is set to sign for the Old Trafford outfit and now AS are reporting that the Red Devils are going to spend 40m euros on young Villareal centre half Eric Bailly.
The Ivorian defender is 22 years of age and has also been linked with Manchester City as Pep Guardiola is a keen admirer of his. However, it looks as if Mourinho has stolen a march on his former El Clasico rival and, according to the Spanish media, the deal will be concluded shortly.
Bailly arrived at the Estadio El Madrigal in 2014 in a 5.7m euro deal from Espanyol. He has since made 46 appearances for 'El Submarino Amarillo' and also has 15 caps for the Ivory Coast.
