Jose Mourinho Wants To Sell Three United Players In The Next Two Transfer Windows

The Manchester United manager also plans to replace them with two players in the next two windows, starting in January.

Jose Mourinho has spent the first three transfer windows trying to get his Manchester United team to where he wants it but he's not quite there yet. After the next two transfer windows he'll certainly be closer.

After the years of David Moyes and Louis van Gaal there was no doubt that Jose Mourinho had a lot of work to do to get Manchester United back into the Premier League title picture.

Even Sir Alex Ferguson had left the Red Devils in a bit of a state when he retired, winning the Premier League in his last season with a team that most thought weren't good enough to get near that.

In the last two seasons Mourinho has spent around £300 million on transfers including twice breaking the clubs record fee by signing Paul Pogba and Romelu Lukaku. But he still has work to do.

There are two positions in particular that the former Real Madrid manager wants to improve and according to the Telegraph in the next two windows he wants to sell Luke Shaw, Matteo Darmian and Daley Blind and sign a left and right back in their place.

United's biggest problem has been at left-back where Shaw, Blind and even Darmian, who is mainly a right back, have all struggled with Ashley Young the first man to make the position his own.

On the right Antonio Valencia has been the man Mourinho has turned to but again other than Darmian, and youngster Axel Tuanzebe- who is predominantly a centre back, there is no real cover.

Shaw is probably the biggest United disappointment of recent times and despite there being big hopes for him it now looks highly unlikely that he'll ever become a first team regular.

Full backs were the last piece of the jigsaw down the road from United at Manchester City and Pep Guardiola spent big in the summer to make sure it was no longer an issue.

United have been heavily linked with Spurs' Danny Rose at left back and if Mourinho sells one of his underperformers in January that move could happen soon.
