Antonio Conte's reported up coming appointment as Inter manager could lead to them making a move for Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku and the Premier League side want one player in exchange.
In the summer of 2017 Manchester United were being strongly linked with Alvaro Morata whilst Chelsea reportedly wanted to bring Romelu Lukaku back from Everton.
As quick as a flash though the situation was turned on its head with United signing Lukaku, who was apparently Jose Mourinho's first choice target all along, leaving Antonio Conte to sign Morata for the Blues, to replace the recently sold Diego Costa.
The deal turned out better for Lukaku and United and, despite some criticism, he's scored 42 goals in all competitions for the Red Devils since joining.
However Lukaku has refused to rule out a move away from Old Trafford recently and with Conte linked with Inter there's strong rumours that the Italian will make a move for the Belgian this summer.
According to the Independent the Nerazzurri are willing to offer £30 million plus old United target Ivan Perisic in order to sign the former Everton front man.
However United no longer have an interest in the Croatian winger and instead want centre back Milan Skriniar as part of any swap deal.
Perisic has been a target for United for the past two summers but it was very much Jose Mourinho who wanted him, with the former United boss wanting to offload Anthony Martial for the Croatian, and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has no interest in the 30 year old.
United are desperate for a centre back and Skrinjar, who was also in Mourinho's sights, would be the perfect signing for them, even though the Slovakian has recently signed a new deal in Italy.
Inter must beat Empoli on Sunday to guarantee Champions League football next season but even if they do they are expected to sack Luciano Spalletti and replace him with Conte, who's been out of management since his sacking by Chelsea.
As well as Skrinjar, Solskjaer's side have also been linked with fellow centre back target Kalidou Koulibaly whilst Ajax's Matthijs de Ligt is also a target despite most people thinking he will sign for Barcelona this summer.
The Premier League side, who finished last season in sixth, are expected to make Swansea City winger Daniel James as their first summer signing and have also been linked to Newcastle United's Sean Longstaff.
