Having acquired Alexis Sanchez last week, it seems like Manchester United aren't resting on their laurels.

According to Rai Sport, United have met with the agents of Napoli midfielder Jorginho and discussed the possibility of him joining in the summer.

The Brazilian-born Italian international has been heavily linked with the Old Trafford club, with Jose Mourinho on the hunt for a new central midfielder and making the position a priority area, particularly because Michael Carrick is retiring at the end of the season.

Terrible footballer compilation:

In terms of filling the void Carrick will leave, there aren't many better deep-lying midfielders than Jorginho, who is an integral part of Maurizio Sarri's exciting, table-topping Napoli side.

A wonderful passer of the ball, the former Hellas Verona man has given the likes of Dries Metrens, Lorenzo Insigne and Marek Hamsik the platform to strut their stuff and has started 18 of the 21 Serie A games Napoli have played.

Nice's Jean-Michael Seri, Borussia Dortmund's Julian Weigl, Shakhtar Donetsk's Fred and Valencia's Carlos Soler are also on the central midfield shortlist from United, according to Miguel Delaney from The Independent.

Either of the aforementioned quarter, as well as Jorginho, would be a fine addition to United, and the Premier League on the whole.
