Will Ronald Koeman get his man?

Just the four Premier League goals has Ronald Koeman scratching his head.

Everton were dealt a massive blow in the summer following the sale of their prolific striker Romelu Lukaku to Manchester United.

Though the blow was softened after receiving £75 million. The club subsequently signed Sandro from Malaga and Wayne Rooney from United.

But both strikers have failed to fill the void left by the brute Belgium. He's scoring for fun under Jose Mourinho, bagging goals in the league not to mention the Champions League.

Yet it appears Koeman will once again target a striker once the transfer window reopens in January.

According to reports from Spanish outlet Marca via Liverpool Echo, Everton want Atletico Madrid's Kevin Gameiro.

The La Liga outfit recently made their own inroads in reinforcing their attacking options after re-signing Diego Costa from Chelsea.

And it's suggested that Gameiro will make way for the arriving Spaniard. The report continues to claim that Diego Simeone has deemed the Frenchman surplus to requirement.

Gameiro, 30, joined Atletico Madrid in 2016 from Sevilla. He scored 16 league goals in the 2015/16 campaign before completing his switch.

He netted 12 league goals in his debut season, though it appears his days in the Spanish capital are numbered.

Since the start of the new season, Gameiro has yet to score, making just two appearances for Simeone's side.

Gameiro isn't the only striker on Koeman's radar. Fellow Frenchman Olivier Giroud remains subject to intense transfer speculation.

The Everton boss was hoping to lure the Arsenal striker to Goodison Park over the summer, but failed in his attempt. Though he could test the Gunners resolve once again in January.

Giroud, and now Gameiro. Will Everton land a striker in January?
