You know that the transfer window is getting really crazy when even Arsene Wenger can't help himself and the Frenchman has made a big offer for a midfielder not long after signing Alexandre Lacazette.
Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea spending a pile of money that even Floyd Mayweather would struggle to shift is nothing new.
Even Scrooge McDuck doesn't have a room full of money that's enough to buy just the smallest of those three teams' targets, considering even the most average player now costs £20 million.

But Arsene Wenger isn't usually one for splashing the cash in such a way. Occasionally he'll pick up one big transfer but two in a summer?!
The Frenchman has already snatched up Alexandre Lacazette in what could actually be the best of his big money transfers to date, even considering Alexis Sanchez.
But we didn't expect the 67 year-old to suddenly turn into a student whose loan has just come in at the beginning of term.
However according to L'Equipe Wenger has gone back to Monaco with an improved £40 million bid for midfielder Thomas Lemar, having previously had a £30 million offer turned down.

Lemar helped Monaco to win Ligue 1 last season and the French side also reached the Champions League semi-final, making their players hot property.
Bernardo Silva has already left for Manchester City and it's unlikely the French principality are going to want to see another highly talented attacking midfielder leave.
Arsenal's first bid was far too short for such a brilliant player aged just 21 but the £10 million extra might make his club think about selling.

The Gunners have also been linked with a £125 million move for Lemar's teammate Kylian Mbappe but that seems highly unlikely.
Leicester City's Riyad Mahrez is also apparently a target and all these links suggests that Alexis Sanchez' time at the Emirates is coming to an end.
Lemar would be a great signing. Will Wenger get his man?
