The superstar player Thierry Henry backed to rival Lamine Yamal in talks to join PSG in blockbuster transfer

Paris Saint-Germain are working hard to sign the budding midfielder.

The superstar player Thierry Henry backed to rival Lamine Yamal is in talks to join Paris Saint-Germain in what would be a blockbuster transfer.

Yamal, still only 17, has emerged as one of the best players in world football following his stellar performances for club and country.

He inspired Spain to glory at last summer's Euro 2024 and has starred for Barcelona this season, scoring an impressive 18 goals across all competitions.

Yamal, who is destined to enjoy a distinguished career, is among the favourites to win the 2025 Ballon d'Or.

A future Ballon d'Or contender could be Franco Mastantuono, who is making a name for himself in Argentina with River Plate.

Mastantuono, also 17, has impressed fans and critics alike, with Henry backing him to rival Yamal.

On CBS Sports, Arsenal legend Henry said: "One thing that always amazes me in football is you always think that there's no way that someone is going to be better [than Messi or Ronaldo]. And then Yamal arrives, and then you have a new guy in Argentina, [Franco] Mastantuono that plays for River Plate, already winning that derby game on the free kick against Boca Juniors."

Mastantuono and Yamal could come head-to-head next season as PSG are working on a deal to sign the attacking midfielder.

That's according to Fabrizio Romano, who claims the French giants are actively working on their summer transfer plans.

PSG sporting director Luís Campos is a big fan of Mastantuono, who is also attracting interest from clubs in England and Spain.

Discussions with River Plate over the signing of the Argentina teenager are already underway.

Whilst it is not yet a done deal, PSG are pushing hard to get the green light.

Mastantuono, who turns 18 in August, came through River Plate's academy before breaking into the first-team.

He has yet to represent Argentina's senior team but it's only a matter of time before he makes his international debut.
