Rodri has already spoken to a senior Real Madrid player about joining the Spanish giants amid reports of a huge offer.
The 29-year-old midfielder hardly featured for Manchester City last season after he sustained an ACL injury in September, scuppering their hopes of a fifth consecutive Premier League title.
The Blues struggled without their midfield talisman, finishing third in league behind Liverpool and Arsenal, but he made his full comeback at the FIFA Club World Cup - before he was forced off again through injury.
Despite Rodri's fitness struggles over the past year, The Sun report that Real Madrid are set to make a £100m bid to sign him this summer.

Real Madrid boss Xabi Alonso is understood to be pushing the club to tempt City with a bid for the Spain international.
It's not the first time that he has been linked to the Spanish side, with reports linking him last summer.

In 2024 amid rumours of Rodri potentially moving to La Liga, Real Madrid right-back Dani Carvajal tried to persuade him to make the move.

He told Spanish publication Tiempo de Juego he had spoken directly with Rodri about a potential move to the Bernabeu.
"I tell Rodri every day to sign for Real Madrid," said Carvajal.
"I tell him every day to leave Manchester, that there is no sun there and to come to Madrid that we need him.
"He tells me he has a contract, but he would be perfect for us."
What has Rodri said about Real Madrid?
After he won the Ballon d'Or in 2024, Rodri was again linked with Real Madrid.

He told Cadena Ser radio in Spain: "Obviously when Madrid, the best and most successful club in history, calls you, it is an honour.
"You always have to pay attention.
“But obviously of course not. I don't look too far ahead but it's a possibility that I could perfectly end my career in England.
"It's a country that has given me everything, I have fallen in love with football there.

"The club is spectacular, not just from a sporting level but how it's structured. I feel comfortable and loved there.
"But Spain is my country. I am always aware of the League, the level of the teams is growing more and more.
"I've been lucky to play in both leagues, to have the best coaches in the world and I feel very satisfied."
Could Rodri join Real Madrid this summer?
It feels unlikely given how important he is to Manchester City.

But with only two years remaining on his contract, this would be the club's last opportunity to get maximum value for Rodri.
Considering the severity of his injury, if a £100m offer from Real Madrid materialised, then Pep Guardiola would have to seriously consider selling his talisman.
