Bayern Munich star Mathys Tel has made his decision on the club he will sign for this transfer window.

Tel has been the subject of intense transfer speculation, with Bayern Munich prepared to sanction his move.

He had initially refused a switch to Tottenham, who had agreed a deal with Bayern.

Tel has also been attracting interest from Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea and Aston Villa.

But, according to Fabrizio Romano and Florian Plettenburg, the Frenchman has performed a U-turn as he is now set to sign for Spurs.

According to Romano, Tel's transfer to Spurs is a straight loan, with no buy option inserted in the deal.

He also claims Spurs will cover the forward's full salary for the rest of the season.

French outlet Le Parisien claim the teenager changed his mind after having a long conversation with Ange Postecoglou, who presented his ideas and revealed how he's going to use him in his side.

An agreement has been reached between Bayern and Spurs, with the player on his way to London with agent Gadiri Camara, who had earlier shared a cryptic post on social media.

He uploaded an image of himself on a private plane, with the 19-year-old onboard.

Tel, who joined Bayern from Rennes in the summer of 2022, has made 14 appearances across all competitions this season and has yet to open his goal account.

Speaking after Thursday's Europa League victory over Elfsborg, Postecoglou gave a coy response when asked about his side's pursuit of Tel.

"I can't tell you anything about Tel," he said during his post-match press conference. "I've been focusing on getting the team prepared tonight.

"Other people are working in the background. As I've said all along, I'm allowing them to get on with it and when, and if, there's any news I'm sure I'll find out."

Tel is set to be Spurs' second signing of the winter transfer window following the club's acquisition of Czech goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky, who joined from Slavia Prague for £12.5 million.
