Sir Jim Ratcliffe's minority stake in Manchester United has now been fully confirmed and the new part-owner of the Old Trafford club is not wasting any time in deciding which players do not have a future there.

Ratcliffe's £1.25bn investment in United has recently been completed, meaning his INEOS firm now owns around 25 per cent of the Red Devils and have taken over the club's football operations, with the Glazer family holding the majority of the club's shares but no longer in overall control.

United were quiet and made no signings in the January transfer window - a common theme across the Premier League - and are currently sit sixth in the Premier League table as they aim to achieve Champions League football next season.

United are now eight points off a Champions League spot after suffering a 2-1 loss against Fulham at Old Trafford, with Aston Villa's victory over Nottingham Forest extending the gap between the two clubs with Erik ten Hag's outfit sixth in the top flight table.

The upcoming transfer window has several questions surrounding it, with plenty of players' futures within the current United squad up in the air and it could be a busy few months during INEOS's first summer in place at Old Trafford.

Ins are no doubt on the horizon, but players will have to move on to make way for them and also to recoup funds with Financial Fair Play in mind - and the names of two have now emerged.

According to The Sun, midfielders Casemiro and Sofyan Amrabat are poised to be moved on to pastures new in the summer.

Amrabat is on loan from Italian side Fiorentina for the season, and this deal is poised to not be made permanent.

And Casemiro, who was signed from Real Madrid in 2022 for an initial £60m on a four-year deal with the option of an extra 12 months, is set to be sold if United can find a buyer for the 32-year-old.

United are set to make a shock move in the summer for Luton Town midfielder Ross Barkley to help plug the gaps in the squad left by the upcoming potential departures.

It promises to be an interesting summer on the transfer front for United, for sure.
