Luis Diaz has given as clear an indication as any on his Liverpool future amid transfer rumours linking him with a switch to Barcelona.

The 27-year-old Colombian has been at Anfield since January 2022 when Liverpool paid a reported £37.5m with £12.5m in add-ons to FC Porto for his services.

Since swapping Portugal for England, Diaz has scored 24 goals in 96 games for Jurgen Klopp's side, winning the FA Cup and two League Cups with the Kop outfit so far.

This campaign has been his most prolific so far with Liverpool, after 13 strikes in 49 appearances across all competitions.

Spanish outlet Sport has recently reported that Barcelona are interested in a move for Diaz, though an updated report suggests the transfer would be "one hundred percent unaffordable" for the Camp Nou side.

Barca's financial concerns have been well documented in recent seasons, and Xavi's side sit third in La Liga, two points behind second placed Girona and a whopping 17 behind champions and El Clasico rivals Real Madrid.

El Heraldo has even claimed that Barca president Joan Laporta has recently met with Diaz's agent, but it is reported it would cost between €120m and €140m to bring the attacker from Merseyside to Catalonia.

Diaz himself has now spoken on his Liverpool future - and he has made it clear he sees it at Anfield as he is 'very happy' on Merseyside, which seems to cool any suggestion of a move to Barcelona or another club.

Speaking to the club website, Diaz said: "You learn more and more to be a professional, to be a better person, to be a good teammate and a good guy.

"The truth is that I am very happy to be here. Great years are coming for the club, I have no doubt about that.

"Personally, I will always try to do my best, always try to give 100 per cent, to always stand out on the field, which is what I came [here] to do. I’m always grateful to God for every opportunity."

Diaz's Liverpool contract runs until the summer of 2027, so the ball is firmly in the Anfield club's court should any side come calling for the attacker's services.
