Fabrizio Romano reveals what he's heard about Liverpool's bid to sign Khephren Thuram and Manu Kone

Liverpool could be in for a busy end to the summer transfer window

Fabrizio Romano has given an update on which players Liverpool fans should keep an eye on for the remainder of the window.

In what was billed as a big summer rebuild, Liverpool have had a disappointing window so far.

The Anfield club brought in Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton and Dominik Szoboszlai from RB Leipzig but then missed out on Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia, with both ending up at Chelsea.

Last week, Liverpool completed the signing of Wataru Endo from Stuttgart for a reported fee of £19 million.

With just over a week to go until the end of the transfer window, transfer specialist Romano has given a brief update on any potential incomings for Liverpool.

In his Daily Briefing, Romano said: “Khephren Thuram and Manu Kone attracted interest from Liverpool earlier in the summer, so what’s going on now?

“At the moment there’s nothing advanced or concrete, there are expensive players so it’s normal; sometimes you have to decide and Liverpool preferred to invest in different kind of players.

“It looks quiet as of today, but for sure they could be two to watch until Deadline Day.”

Talking about his new signing Endo, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp said: “It is a transfer that is not in the public eye. It’s not ‘Oh my God!’ and probably nobody at this moment is writing a new song about him.

“But wait. He has something that Liverpool supporters will love, definitely. He is already used to red a little bit, so that’s good, and when he puts that shirt on he will throw everything on the pitch and the people will love that.”

Endo made his debut during Liverpool’s 3-1 win over Bournemouth at Anfield on Saturday.

The Japanese could be in line to start their next Premier League match, which will be a tough test against Newcastle United at St.James’ Park on Sunday.
