Chelsea's five-man striker shortlist ahead of January transfer window revealed

Chelsea's five-man striker shortlist ahead of January transfer window revealed

Chelsea have set their sights on five strikers ahead of the transfer window reopening in January.

Chelsea have reportedly drawn up a stunning five-man striker shortlist ahead of the January transfer window.

The Blues spent big during the summer transfer window, notably snapping up Moises Caicedo from Brighton for a British record £115 million.

They also recruited Nicolas Jackson from Villarreal for £30 million as he opened his goal account in his side's 3-0 win over Luton Town.

He's led the line in each of Chelsea's four Premier League fixtures this season, but the club want to bolster their attacking options ahead of the transfer window reopening in January

According to reports via Football London, Mauricio Pochettino is thought to be keeping tabs on FIVE strikers, including four Premier League-based stars.

Brighton starlet Evan Ferguson, who's also wanted by Manchester City Arsenal and Manchester United, is liked at Stamford Bridge, with the 18-year-old in line to command a monster transfer fee.

Aston Villa's Ollie Watkins and Nottingham Forest's Taiwo Awoniyi, who scored the winner against Chelsea earlier this month, are also believed to be on the shortlist.

Watkins, 27, signed for Villa from Brentford and has scored 46 goals for the club, bagging 15 league goals last season in his best-scoring return in England's top flight.

Awoniyi, 26, moved to Forest from Union Berlin and netted 10 league goals last season. He already has three goals to his name this campaign.

Ivan Toney, who is currently serving a suspension, is on the shortlist, too. The 27-year-old scored an impressive 20 league goals last season.

Benjamin Sesko rounds off Chelsea's reported five-man shortlist. The 20-year-old made his name in Austria before securing a switch to RB Leipzig.

So, that's Ferguson, Watkins, Awoniyi, Toney and Sesko on Chelsea's five-man striker shortlist.
