Arne Slot Says He Could Sell Liverpool Star ‘Tomorrow’ for £100m

Liverpool boss Arne Slot heaped special praise on one of his key players.

Arne Slot says he could sell a Liverpool star 'tomorrow' and get £100 million.

Liverpool splashed the cash during the summer transfer window, snapping up the likes Alexander Isak and Florian Wirtz.

Isak cost a British-record fee of £125 million, while Wirtz commanded a whopping £116 million.

Liverpool have yet to deploy Isak but he could feature in his new side's Champions League opener against Atletico Madrid on Wednesday.

Wirtz, on the other hand, has started each league game this season though he has struggled to adapt to life in the Premier League.

Speaking ahead of his team's first European fixture of the new season, Slot was quizzed about the German star's form and ongoing adjustment.

"I put that down to Bournemouth. I put that down to Newcastle. I put that down to Arsenal," he began. "I put that down to a team we faced this weekend that only conceded 14 goals last season. If it’s correct I don’t know, but someone told me today that’s the first time in 18 months that Burnley lost a home game... but it tells you how hard it is to play these games, which is normal.

"There’s so much focus on our new signings, especially the pundits that favour other clubs! They cannot stop talking about 450 million... but they always forget the 300 million that we’ve sold for!"

Slot reflected on Liverpool's summer spending spree before mentioning Dominik Szoboszlai, who has been the club's standout performer at this early stage.

The Dutch boss claimed Szoboszlai would be worth £100 million if they sold him 'tomorrow'.

He added: "These players that we’ve brought in are indeed a lot of money, but they are playing now together with players that are worth the same amount of money.

"Yes, if we want to strengthen the squad, we need almost to spend that much money... if we sell Dominik Szoboszlai tomorrow, he would be worth 100 million as well."

Szoboszlai has started every league game this season, with the midfielder deputising at right-back against Newcastle United, Arsenal and Burnley.

He has shone at right-back and scored the winning goal against Arsenal last month.

How much is Dominik Szoboszlai worth?

Szoboszlai joined Liverpool from RB Leipzig for £60 million in the summer of 2023.

The Hungarian international has quickly become a key player at Anfield, having made 99 appearances across all competitions.

His current valuation is a little under Slot's estimation, with Transfermarkt valuing the 24-year-old at £69 million.

But given his recent performances for the Reds, that valuation is likely to be a lot higher.
