Three English Players Make Gazzetta's Top 30 Under 20 Players List

The Italians have picked as many Englishmen as Italians in their list.

We all want to know who the next big thing in football is, whether that's because we fancy ourselves as football scouts or whether because we need to decide who we'll be signing on the latest edition of Football Manager. Gazzetta dello Sport have rather taken the fun out of it with their list.

Compiling any best list can be very difficult. If I asked you to name the 10 best footballers on the planet you'd no doubt start with Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo and it would become rather trickier after that.

Even before we've got past those two many of you would argue over the order they should go, I imagine you'd all put them in your top two but maybe I'm wrong.

Watch our video on where the Premier league's youngest players are now:

Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport have taken it upon themselves to name the top 30 under 20 players in Europe. Amongst the group are three English players in the form of Marcus Rashford, Ryan Sessegnon and Tom Davies.

Rashford is right near the top of the list in fourth, beaten only by Ousmane Dembele, Gianluigi Donnarumma and Renato Sanches, 16 year old Sessegnon is in 26th place and Davies is ahead of Real Madrid starlet Martin Odegaard in 28th place:

Bayern Munich Sanches won last year's Golden Boy award and Bayern fought off interest from Manchester United to sign him before he impressed in the Euros for eventual winners Portugal.

Donnarumma is expected to be Gigi Buffon's long term replacement for Italy and the AC Milan number one is often linked with a move to Juventus to replace him at club level too.

Dembele was snapped up by Dortmund in the summer and the Frenchman has a very bright future and has already scored five league goals and put on eight assists in the Bundesliga for his teammates this season.

Who would make your list?
