The 50 Greatest Goalkeepers Of All Time Have Been Ranked By Fans

Gianluigi Buffon has been voted the greatest goalkeeper of all time by fans ahead of fellow legends Peter Schmeichel and Iker Casillas.

The 42-year-old Italian icon is currently in his second spell at Juventus after leaving Paris Saint-Germain in 2019.

Buffon's success for club and country has seen him capture the Serie A title an incredible 10 times with Juventus and also lifting the World Cup with Italy in 2006.

Fans over at Ranker voted Manchester United legend Schmeichel second and Real Madrid hero Casillas third in the rankings.

The legendary Lev Yashin, who remains the only 'keeper in history to win a Ballon d'Or, came fourth in the fan vote.

Hope Solo, who won two Olympic gold medals and a World Cup with the USA, is the only woman to crack the top 50.
