Thierry Henry has hilariously recalled the time he met the Queen, saying he was 'nervous as hell' during his Buckingham Palace visit.

The Arsenal legend shared his memories of the Queen following her passing last Thursday.

He conveyed his condolences before recalling his team's visit to Buckingham Palace back in February 2007.

Henry compared the visit to playing a game as he was tasked with introducing the squad to the Queen.

He then brilliantly revealed how he forgot Julio Baptista's name as he introduced him to the Queen.

Speaking on CBS Sports, he said: "I had the opportunity to meet the Queen. I was nervous, I was nervous as hell!

"When you’re at Buckingham Palace and meeting the Queen - I looked at Julio Baptista, I forgot his name, I was like, 'Who is that?!'"

Arsenal are the only football club to be invited for afternoon tea with the Queen.

And speaking in 2016, Emmanuel Eboue gave his side of the story - and its gold.

"We went there and Thierry Henry said to me: 'Please, Emmanuel, this is Buckingham Palace, it’s the Queen’s house, don’t do anything,'" he revealed.

"'No problem,' I said. 'Don’t worry'. So, the Queen came in and went along shaking each player’s hand.

"After she’d finished I saw all her corgis so I said, 'Ma’am, Ma’am'. She turned back and asked, 'How are you?’ and I said, 'Ma’am, I am OK thank you but please, I don’t want to be a footballer any more, I want to look after your dogs. I want to take them for walks, wash them, feed them. I want to be a dog carer.'

"The Queen, honestly, she was laughing. Prince Philip was laughing too. All the team were laughing."
