The best 90+ minute goals from the Premier League this season

The best 90+ minute goals from the Premier League this season

As the 23/24 Premier League season came to an end, the SPORTbible team were asked to share their favourite second half stoppage time goals

A record-breaking 103 goals were scored after the 90:00 minute mark in Premier League games this season.

Betfair’s ‘Match Odds 90’ market means if your match odds selection is winning as the clock hits 90:00, it is settled as a winner, no matter what happens in stoppage time! Betfair will then also payout on the final result too, meaning they can pay out on two results within the same game! This offer will continue for the FA Cup Final, Champions League Final and all matches at Euro 2024! .

Here are some of our favourites this season:

Tottenham 2-1 Sheffield United - Richarlison & Dejan Kulusevski

1-0 down deep into stoppage time, and the Big Ange good times already looking like they’re over, beofre Richarlison suddenly scored in the eighth minute of injury time, and then remarkably there was still time for Dejan Kulusevski to win the game out of nowhere, in the 100th minute. Absolutely limbs. One of the greatest late shows in Premier League history.

Betfair were able to pay out on punters who backed both Spurs and Sheffield United to win that match in their match odds 90 market.

Newcastle 1-2 Liverpool - Darwin Nunez

As a Liverpool supporter, a last minute goal that stands out for me is Darwin Nunez’s 93rd minute winner against Newcastle.

Liverpool were 1-0 down and had captain Virgil Van Dijk sent off, which meant the Reds were down to 10-men for a vast majority of the game. Nunez came on in the 77th minute and scored the equaliser in the 81st minute, and everyone assumed the match was ending in a draw. However, Nunez had other ideas with a 93rd minute winner in front of the away fans up in the gods. That win kept Liverpool unbeaten and here I thought it would be our season…

Chelsea 4-3 Man Utd - Cole Palmer

In arguably one of the games of the season, the boyhood Man United fan, who was signed from Man City, single handedly flipped the game on its head by scoring two injury time goals at Stamford Bridge. With the game at 2-3, Cole Palmer stepped up in the 100th minute to score what looked like an equaliser. However, a minute later, Palmer turned the game on its head once more with a winner. It was absolute bedlam inside Stamford Bridge, and once again punters who bet on both Chelsea and Manchester United to win were rewarded, as the Red Devils were winning at 90:00 and Chelsea won the actual game!

Everton 1-3 West Ham - Tomas Soucek

The game looked to be heading for a draw after Kurt Zouma cancelled out Andre Gomes’ goal for Everton, but in the first minute of injury time, Tomas Soucek - with a goal of the season contender - volleyed the ball beautifully past Jordan Pickford in the Everton net causing scenes in a noisy away end.

To make it even better, Edson Alvarez then put the cherry on the top by securing the win in the fifth minute of injury time!

Make sure that your bets are free from stoppage time drama by taking advantage of Betfair’s 90 minute payout. If your match odds bet is winning and the clock hits 90:00, it’s a winner, no matter what happens! Remember, you can build Accas and Bet Builders with the ‘Match Odds 90’ markets too!
