The 50 greatest Real Madrid players of all time have been named and Karim Benzema is in 13th place after a truly sensational season.

Benzema scored twice in Tuesday's 4-3 Champions League semi-final first leg defeat to Manchester City to take his tally to 44 goals in all competitions this campaign.

His second deserves special mention, a lovely panenka penalty that most of us could only dream of pulling off.

FourFourTwo decided to rank the best players in Los Blancos history last month and the 34-year-old finds himself in the upper echelons.

The France international arrived at the Santiago Bernabeu from Lyon in 2009 and was an unsung hero for years.

Benzema joined at the same time as Cristiano Ronaldo and played a supporting role to the five-time Ballon d'Or winner.

When he left for Juventus in 2018, many wondered who would step up and take his spot. Nobody expected it to be Benzema.

He's now vice-captain and regularly wears the armband, with skipper Marcelo regularly on the bench.

Check out the entire top 50 below.

It'll come as no surprise that Ronaldo is the man who takes top spot as the greatest player in Real Madrid's illustrious history.

He was the world's most expensive player when Madrid forked out £80 million for his services and looking back, it could be seen as a bit of a bargain.

Ronaldo won two La Liga titles and a whopping four Champions Leagues in nine years in addition to the Ballon d'Or four times.

A record that'll likely never be matched again.
