Erik ten Hag has reportedly identified his first signing should he land the coveted Manchester United job.

Ten Hag, 52, is one of the names in the hat to become Man United's next permanent manager.

He's believed to be competing with Paris Saint-Germain boss Mauricio Pochettino and Spain manager Luis Enrique.

But if he secures the managerial gig at Old Trafford, then he has earmarked his first signing.

The Dutchman is set to raid Ajax and attempt to bring Antony with him to Man United if he secures the role, according to The Telegraph.

The Brazilian, 22, has impressed for his club this season, scoring 12 goals in all competitions.

He also has eight assists to his name, with his performances for Ajax earning him an international call-up.

Antony has registered eight caps and scored two goals for Brazil.

The budding forward has also attracted interest from around Europe, with Barcelona thought to be keen on snapping up the exciting star.

If Ten Hag, though, is unsuccessful in landing the Man United job, he's expected to sign Anthony at whichever club he does join if he leaves Ajax.

Ten Hag has already been interviewed ahead of potentially becoming the next permanent Man United manager.

However, he's been warned from accepting the role by former Man United boss and fellow countryman Louis van Gaal.

The veteran manager insists Ten Hag should join a 'football club' rather than a 'commercial club' in a damning assessment.

"Erik ten Hag is a great coach and that is always good for Manchester United," explained the Netherlands coach.

"But Manchester United are a commercial club, so it's a difficult choice for a coach. He'd better go to a football club.

"I'm not going to advise him, he'll call me himself. But he must choose a football club and not a commercial club."
