Revealed: What hero goalkeeper Francis Uzoho said to Erik ten Hag after Manchester United vs Omonia Nicosia

Francis Uzoho had an incredible game for Omonia Nicosia vs Man United on Thursday.

Omonia Nicosia's Francis Uzoho produced an incredible performance in last night's Europa League clash against Man United - and what he told Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag has been revealed.

United managed to pick up a crucial 1-0 victory, with Scott McTominay's 93rd-minute strike the only goal of the game.

But Ten Hag's side almost dropped two points against the reigning Cypriot Cup champions, despite registering 33 shots at goal over the 90 minutes.

That was primarily due to the heroics of Uzoho, who made a sensational 11 saves over the 90 minutes.

After the match, the goalkeeper, who is a lifelong Man United fan, told BT Sport he was "not disappointed" because his team "had a good game", almost pulling off a huge shock at Old Trafford.

It was a fairytale evening for Uzoho, even more so given that he was only playing due to an injury to first-choice goalkeeper Fabiano. And it got even better for him after the match had ended.

Ten Hag reveals conversation with Uzoho after Man United vs Omonia Nicosia

After receiving high praise from his manager, former Celtic and Bolton boss Neil Lennon, in the post-match press conference, Uzoho bumped into Erik ten Hag.

The goalkeeper then asked the Dutchman for a photo, for which the United man duly obliged. They also shook hands, with Ten Hag congratulating Uzoho on his performance.

Revealing more about their exchange, Ten Hag said in his post-match press conference: "I said, 'Well done'. He had many, many saves, so many clear goals were not in, so we kept them in the game.

"So the performance until the box was good and the finishing, of course, was not that good. Let's hope we save the goals for the coming weeks."

Man United fans will hope the goals do indeed flow when the Red Devils host Newcastle in the Premier League on Sunday. For Uzoho, he will want to ensure he keeps his place in the Omonia starting XI following an impressive display on one of the biggest European stages.
