Goals from the returning Jermain Defoe and Jamie Vardy ensured the sides unbeaten start as they seek to earn a spot in Russia.
But ahead of the internationals, Gareth Southgate called up Michael Keane who has been consistently churning out impressive performances for Burnley in the Premier League.
Against Germany, he looked assured and steady as he took up a place in Southgate's experimental 3-man back-line which was duly noted by the boss who subsequently started him at Wembley.
Along with Manchester City's John Stones and Spurs' Eric Dier. This is where Ferdinand comes into the mix.
